After a busy few months away from the GMF mission, I am now back on the case with my efforts being focused in Cirencester and the surrounding area. I have some exiting work to tell of and after my meeting with Jamie Nesbitt tomorrow I will update fully with my plans……
Kingshill House Dursley may need a reputation face lift…..
After visiting and meeting staff at the house i realized Kingshill house has had some unfortunate associations in the past….I feel as a charitable organization they are doing great things for the local community.
After a tour of the house i realised what a great prospect there could be from an arts prospective within these characteristic rooms and out houses…. Staff and owners of the house are very keen to introduce new projects and get youngsters involved with the Arts Center, but it is a case of generating some good press and word of mouth in the community to get this facility ROCKING!!!
The potential to run an open mic night using the bar facilities or holding dance and music classes in the large rooms of the house are all good possibilities i will be looking into at kingshill in the near future.
Studio Opportunity!
In the grounds of the house there is some great refurbished out houses that are used for storage at present. After a long discussion with staff at the house the possibility and opportunity to turn one of these buildings into a recording space has arisen.
I am looking into funding possibilities with regard to a community run studio facility offering a great space for the young community to learn and practice recording techniques in Dursley.
After meeting with head of Music Jason Andrews last week, Redknock School have found themselves in a great position of growth within the music and arts departments… With major developments in progress and building coming to a finish Redknock’s music department is flourishing.
The introduction of Music technology into the schools curriculum has seen a great increase in the interest for the subject. With this Jason and i discussed making Redknock a central Music hub for the area introducing extracurricular courses and lots more activity within the school. I may host some music technology workshops at the school and focus on some of the great techniques i have learnt whilst working as an Studio Engineer! Also working alongside some of the great music staff within the school we have discussed composition projects to make use of the facility over the weekend periods.

Stars Of The Future
Artist Development scheme
Mobile songwriting and recording workshop will offer schools and community groups the opportunity to partake in a county wide program that will enhance and bring together young creative minds in the community.
Working alongside me over an 8 week period children from the ages of 11 to 18 will learn creative skills in:
I will be hosting a taster day workshop at Prema Arts center in Uley South Gloucestershire in the coming month! There will be thirty places available on the workshop and it will give young people from Uley, Dursley, Stroud and the surrounding areas a chance to showcase there talents and learn from professional Artist and songwriters from around the UK!
Dates and times will be confirmed later this week and more information about the project will be included in the next Prema brochure.

Music: Coach
Music Coach offers the opportunity to work with professional musicians and songwriters who will help students to compose, arrange and perform their own music. By the end of the program each student will have a deeper understanding of the craft of song writing.
The weekly sessions focus on three areas:
· Lyric writing
· Composition
· Performance
Each week the students will work alongside the tutors to maintain their progress and develop their individual strengths. The syllabus will guide each session, introducing new ideas for the students to enjoy.
We believe that encouraging young peoples creativity at an early age is an important step in their development. The music coach program is geared towards developing confidence and exploring personal ambitions.

About Me:
After Finishing a BA Hons Degree in Commercial Music in 2008. I was employed as a freelance engineer at Modern World Studios in Tetbury. I have been lucky enough to work alongside some amazing people including Paul Weller, The Doves and many other influential people in the music industry. Whilst working at the studio I have also been responsible for helping to set up and run the newly introduced Modern World record label. This position has given me a valuable amount of experience and a great insight into the professional music business.
I have also had some work as a Professional songwriter and have some good foundations in the london scene. I have written several songs for various artists around the UK. I am currently writing material, recording and producing an album with my own band/project.
